How does high-temperature waste incineration work?
The incineration process begins by loading waste into an incinerator. An incinerator is a large, sealed chamber designed to contain the heat and emissions generated by the combustion process.
Once the waste enters the incinerator, it is heated to approximately 1,000 to 1,200°C (1,800 to 2,200°F). This causes the waste to burn and break down into its component parts.
When waste is burned, it releases carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrogen oxides, ash, and soot. These emissions are filtered and treated before being released into the atmosphere to remove pollutants and minimize their impact on air quality.
